
Gina Carano and Lucasfilm have reached an agreement following their legal battle.
If you were unaware, the 43-year-old actress was fired from the popular Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian in early 2021 over controversial posts on social media. In response, she sued Lucasfilm and Disney in February 2024, with the assistance of Elon Musk, accusing them of wrongful discharge and sex discrimination.
On Thursday (August 7), Lucasfilm announced that they settled Gina‘s lawsuit out of court.
Keep reading to find out more…“The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies,” a spokesperson for Lucasfilm shared in a statement with Entertainment Weekly.
“Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect,” the statement continued. “With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future.”
The terms of Lucasfilm’s settlement with Gina have not been made public.
In an interview from March 2024, Gina opened up about her experience on The Mandalorian, including how the companies reacted to her controversies, specifics about her pay, and her relationship with costar Pedro Pascal.
