The final day of the work week has finally arrived. today is the time to inhale, exhale, and enjoy the new deliveries of New track Friday. Thankfully, several of our favorite ladies did not disappoint.
Halle Bailey is finally making a full leap into her solo track career. With years in professional and personal transition, which includes becoming a mother and dominating on the big screen as “The Little Mermaid,” Halle has returned her focus to the studio, sharing her debut solo album, “Love Or Something Like It.” Across 15 tracks, Halle examines the emotional depth of heartbreak, love and expresses a more seductive side that fans aren’t used to from the songbird. Some of track’s most beloved women make an appearance on “Love Or Something Like It.” This includes GloRilla, Mariah The Scientist, H.E.R., and, to fans’ delight, her sister, Chloe Bailey. With such strong vocals, Halle proves that she is a leading contender in the R&B realm.
Megan Thee Stallion makes her glorious return with the single, “Lover shorty.” Produced by mashup mastermind Jacobdior, this TikTok-friendly bop merges Total’s “Kissin’ You” with a New Orleans bounce sound, guaranteeing another banger for the Hottie. Meg has teased the record for weeks, leaving fans flooding her comments, urging her to drop this heat. Meg floats over the beat, utilizing her Houston flow to rap about the boo in her life. In recent months, Meg has unveiled her new relationship with Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson. Whether Meg’s real-life romance influenced her “Lover shorty” era is not entirely known, though it wouldn’t be the first time the Texas star let fans into her life through lyrics.
After days of controversy, Tyla introduced the long-awaited single, “Chanel.” The afrobeats-inspired luxury tune cuts straight to the point: take your woman to the Chanel store, or else. While the song fits well with other standouts in her catalog, the single is being called out by none other than Yung Miami. Ahead of its streaming debut, the City Girls star accused Tyla of stealing her song, or at least the concept. Miami claims she even played her unreleased “Take Me to Chanel” for Tyla, who coincidentally dropped a song centered around the same fashion house. To Miami, this was a clear sign of Tyla biting her style. The singer has not directly addressed Caresha, but her supporters are flocking to this fun melody.
