Shakya Akhtar comes from a prominent and highly influential film family. Her paternal grandparents are renowned and iconic screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar and his former wife, actress Honey Irani. She’s the niece of the industry’s favorite, Zoya Akhtar.

Shakya Akhtar is the elder daughter of Farhan and Adhuna. Akira Akhtar is her younger sister. Shakya is an avid social media user and is often praised for her fashion sense and style. She’s also adored for her tattoos.

Farhan Akhtar married Adhuna Bhabani in 2000. The former couple announced their separation after 16 years in 2016 and got divorced in 2017. Farhan Akhtar then married Shibani Dandekar in a private event on February 19, 2022.
