A new video from the set of HBO‘s highly anticipated Harry Potter series has surfaced online, teasing a familiar location. Production is currently underway at Leavesden Studios in the UK. The first season is expected to premiere in early 2027.
What is shown in the new Harry Potter HBO show’s set video?
Shared on X, the new behind-the-scenes video offers fans a glimpse of the iconic Hogwarts Express train that the upcoming Harry Potter show will frequently use throughout its ten-season run.
In the original book series and film franchise, the Hogwarts Express is best known as the train that transports students from London King’s Cross Station Platform 9¾ to Hogsmeade Station. This also seemingly confirmed that the show’s main trio is about to start filming Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s first scene together, which happens during their first train ride to Hogwarts.
The Harry Potter TV show will be led by newcomers Dominic McLaughlin as the titular character, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Joining them are John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley, Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley, and more.
The HBO adaptation is written and executive produced by showrunner Francesca Gardiner (Killing Eve, Succession), with Mark Mylod serving as its director. It will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series, featuring an exciting and talented cast to lead a new generation of fandom. Executive producers are Mylod, Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and long-time Harry Potter franchise producer David Heyman. It is a production by HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
