Heidi Klum is dishing on her 2025 Halloween costume!
The 52-year-old Project Runway host slithered onto the carpet at her annual Halloween rave on Friday night (October 31), revealing this year’s “very ugly” costume was Medusa.
Ahead of her event, she opened up about the process of coming up with the idea, the process and the transformation the day of.

“I wanted to explore the classic monsters of history, and reimagine one in a modern way,” she told Vogue of coming up with this year’s look. “Medusa stood out to me as truly iconic—mysterious yet ferocious. The legend of her turning humans to stone has fascinated audiences for centuries. In museums, countless paintings and sculptures depict her haunting power, a testament to how terrifying and compelling she remains.”
While she normally plans far, far in advance, this idea only came up around April, but she noted, “we still had a few months to work on it.”
Heidi worked with her close friend Mike Marino once again, who “immediately said, ‘Hell yeah!’ He is a great collaborator, because he can not only bring the costume to life, but also comes up with ideas to make it even bigger and better.”
“Mike and his team are so respected in the industry—they have a bunch of Oscar nominations, and an Emmy award for The Penguin,” she gushed. “At their heart, they are just kids going wild with a box of crayons. They bring so much creativity and artistry and wonder. I love working with them.”
For her hand painted costume, Heidi spent nine hours in the makeup chair to create the elaborate look, a process she documented on her Instagram with a series of videos.
“I love that all of the snakes move independently—they look so real,” she dished. “I also have a custom split snake tongue that is just next level. I love a challenge, so I am always striving to outdo myself from the years before.”
There was another component to her look she wanted to have – room to dance!
“I made sure that I can dance in my costume,” she said. “Because my friend Questlove is deejaying, and I am ready to shake this rattlesnake tail!”
