The early voting period for Boston’s general election will begin Oct. 25 and take place through Oct. 31 at select polling locations.

Boston’s general election is scheduled for Nov. 4, but early in-person voting will begin this weekend for anyone who wants to cast their ballot ahead of the curve.

Here’s who will be on the ballot in November’s 2025 City Council election
Early voting will begin Oct. 25 and take place through Oct. 31, according to the city’s website. Only a select number of polling locations will be open, but unlike traditional polling, voters don’t have to vote at their assigned polling location.
All registered Boston voters are eligible to vote early, and all ballot styles will be available at the early voting locations, according to city officials. These locations will also be accessible to voters with disabilities and have AutoMark machines for voters who need help filling in their ballot.
At least one polling location is open every day through the entire early voting period. Here’s a complete breakdown of where and when you can vote early:

To find the closest location to you, the city has a handy early voting map. The map also highlights the various drop box locations around the city for mail-in voters who have opted to return their ballot in-person.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. for in-person registration and 11:59 p.m. for online registration, according to the city’s website. All voters who miss the early voting period are still eligible to vote Nov. 4.
