Maddock horror-comedy universe
The Maddock horror-comedy universe is expanding with Thamma, a film already creating an okayish buzz ahead of its Diwali 2025 release. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the movie brings together Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in a fresh pairing and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in prominent roles.
Title of the movie
Part of the same makers that delivered blockbusters like Stree, Munjya, Bhediya, and Stree 2, Thamma promises a new twist – the world of vampires. Thamma was originally titled Vampires of Vijaynagar before being changed. The new title is based on the mythical figure Ashwatthama from the Hindu epic The Mahabharata, connecting the vampire-themed romance to Indian mythology.
Thamma’s cast
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok Goyal, Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Tadaka, Nawazuddin Siddiqui portrays Yakshaasan the vampire king, and Paresh Rawal plays Ram Bajaj Goyal Alok’s father.
Thamma cast fees
According to a DNA report, Ayushmann Khurrana is getting Rs 8-10 crore to play the protagonist Alok Goyal. Rashmika Mandanna charged in the range of Rs 5-7 crore. Nawazuddin plays the villain in Thamma and took home Rs 3-4 crore. Both Paresh Rawal and Malaika Arora got Rs 2 crore each for their parts. However, it is not officially confirmed.
What is the plotline?
The film blends romance, horror, and comedy. Rashmika Mandanna takes on the role of Tadaka, who partners up with Ayushmann Khurrana’s character, Alok Goyal, to take down the vampire king. Their partnership drives the plot forward, blending action, suspense, and dark humor with a touch of romance.
Release date
The film is scheduled to anthem cinemas on this Diwali, October 21, 2025, just in time to light up the festive season for Bollywood fans. The fans are extremely excited for its release.
