Hunter Biden is not backing down — no matter how big the lawsuit.
On August 6, Melania Trump threatened to sue Hunter Biden for more than $1 billion if he didn’t retract a claim linking her to Jeffrey Epstein. In a legal notice, her attorney called the statement “false, defamatory, and inflammatory,” demanding Hunter take it back.

But instead of apologizing, the president’s political rival fired off a two-word response: “F— that.”
The controversy started when Hunter appeared on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, saying he’d read that Epstein was the one who introduced Donald Trump to Melania — citing news articles dating back to 2019 and author Michael Wolff. When Callaghan asked if he wanted to apologize, Hunter doubled down, saying there was nothing to retract and calling the lawsuit threat a “designed distraction.”
Trump has publicly supported Melania’s legal move, telling Fox Radio’s Brian Kilmeade, “Jeffrey Epstein had nothing to do with Melania. I told her to go ahead and do it. She was very upset about it.”
The claim has popped up before, and been retracted before. The Daily Beast recently removed an article suggesting a similar connection, and Democratic strategist James Carville issued an apology earlier this month for saying the same thing.
Still, Hunter insists the focus shouldn’t be on who introduced who. “I think the entire world would love to finally get to the bottom of the true nature of their relationship,” he said, even offering to sit the Trumps down for a deposition.
For immediately, Melania is standing firm, Hunter is standing defiant, and the $1 billion question is whether this fight heads to court or stays a war of words.
