Charlie Day is heading to the Hub this week.
The “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star is taking over the Boston bar scene with a series of events to promote his Irish American whiskey brand, Four Walls Whiskey. Thursday through Saturday, Day will make a series of appearances at local watering holes, including the Rooftop at the Envoy, Lucky’s Lounge, Back Bay Social, Flight Club Boston, and Landsdowne Pub. Day will serve up “IASIP” energy from behind the bar as he is set to meet fans, take pictures, and make drinks with his whiskey at each stop.
Day will also appear at the Total Wine at the South Bay Center in Dorchester on Saturday to sign bottles of Four Walls Whiskey. The appearances are first-come, first-served events that require no tickets or reservations. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as space is special.
“One of the missions of the brand is to bring more real-life hangs back,” Day said in an email statement to the Globe.
Day, who was born in New York but grew up in Middletown, R.I., and graduated from Merrimack College in North Andover in 1998, co-founded the whiskey brand with fellow “IASIP” stars Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney as a tribute to “the place that the gang calls home,” — a bar — according to the Four Walls website. On their banger FX sitcom, their characters own and operate a dive bar, Paddy’s Irish Pub, where most of their raunchy shenanigans take place.
Outside of whiskey, Day recently co-starred in Ethan Coen’s new film, “Honey Don’t,” and is set to continue his role as Luigi in the upcoming “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” sequel, “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” out April 2026. In August, Day said on Ted Danson’s podcast, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” that the writers’ room for the upcoming 18th season of “IASIP” is set open in October, with a release date sometime in late 2026.
