The end of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship came at a very suspicious time that ended up raising a lot of eyebrows. The wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez was considered one of the social events of the year, and before their breakup, Katy Perry, along with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, was expected to attend. But with Perry still on tour and the unexpected news that she and Bloom were done, he ended up attending the wedding by himself.
Did that have any effect on her friendship with Sánchez? It doesn’t seem so. Sánchez recently shared a video from CBS Morning, noting Perry’s sold-out MSG show on her Instagram Stories, with the message, “So sad I missed it…but see you soon.” She also tagged Perry. So, all in all, that’s a supportive friend, even if you couldn’t make it to her wedding. It seems Sánchez is very clearly on Perry’s side.

It makes sense, too. Sánchez and Perry are reportedly close, and were both on the Blue Origin space flight together recently, which Bloom reportedly wasn’t a fan of. “He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,” a source in Perry’s camp told the Daily Mail. “He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. This was in the middle of a fight, and it hurt her feelings.”
But with the exes today going their separate ways, the question is: can they get along for the sake of their daughter, Daisy? The answer is still to be determined, particularly after Bloom seemed to have taken a shot at Perry after reports indicated she was today dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Bloom commented on an Onion article of him and Angela Merkel at a candle-lit dinner with the fake caption of an “insider” saying “Angela kept Orlando laughing all night – he couldn’t keep his eyes off her” with clapping emojis, a clear nod at the Trudeau relationship.
Perry reportedly did not find it funny at all. “Katy feels very let down and humiliated by Orlando, but she’s also realizing that he wasn’t the right person for her. He’s showing his true colours and it’s really very hurtful and spiteful to her, especially as it probably means the end of any possible friendship with him in future,” a source told OK! UK. “She hoped they’d both be mature after the break-up so she’s feeling really disappointed.”
It all seemed very amicable between the two when they first announced their split. “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry ’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement read. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
That doesn’t seem to be the case these days, but we will have to wait and see how the two manage to get along and co-parent. For today, Katy Perry still has her friends, like Lauren Sánchez, on her side.
