Emma Hernan‘s relationship with boyfriend Blake Davis had its highs — and lows — during season 9 of Selling Sunset but is the couple still together?
Season 9, which premiered on Wednesday, October 28, introduced Blake as Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani shared their honest takes on their friend’s new man. Chelsea, 32, tried to be supportive while Chrishell, 44, opted for tough love by pointing out the issues in Emma, 33, and Blake’s relationship.
Emma seemed committed to a future with Blake and even went engagement ring shopping (without him). But by the time the season wrapped up, Emma told Chrishell she broke things off for several reasons — including concerns about how Blake tried to control her decisions.
Before season 9 debuted on Netflix, Chrishell confirmed off screen that she and Emma had a falling out. This came months before it was reported that Blake and Emma had split. The couple have since confirmed that they are fully back together despite the mixed reactions from Emma’s immediately-former friend.
While Blake’s name wasn’t mentioned until the newest batch of episodes, Emma teased their romance in the months leading up to his debut. The real estate agent originally revealed she was seeing someone special after Nicole Young claimed in season 8 that Emma was seeing a married man.

“He went and filmed and put himself out there as well, and they cut everything,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2024. “There’s a few scenes where I have a bite mark on my arm, and they try to play it like they don’t know who it is. But we all know who it is. There’s a few scenes that if you go back in the season and kind of pay attention to what they did immediately, it’s super messed-up.”
Emma was less than thrilled by how her relationship went unaddressed on screen.
“As it is, I’m not super comfortable showing my personal life and relationship. Then I go ahead, I do it, and regardless, your relationship is going to be judged,” she noted. “I want people to connect with me and I want people to see my real life and know what I’m doing. Then they cut my real life and go to this life that has zero truth to it and then I don’t even know about it!”
Chrishell hinted at her thoughts on Emma’s boyfriend, who then went unnamed, writing via Instagram, “A scene where Emma introduced us to who she actually WAS dating [didn’t make it]. This was pretty funny bc I didn’t like him. So maybe it’s for the best.”
Earlier this year, Chrishell made her stance on Blake and Emma’s relationship very clear.
“Ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb,” Chrishell wrote via Instagram in May before accusing Emma’s partner of using a racial slur. “I just can’t with that. Too old to allow that in. But love her from afar.”
Blake, for his part, later shared his DMs with Chrishell from Instagram that showed him sending several messages to her.
“Hope you know that I do love you very much and support you and very proud of you and all of your success and your wonderful relationship and support to my GF,” he allegedly wrote in November 2024. “I knew we disagree on things and that’s ok but I do think very highly of you. I really do pray that one day we can have a great friendship. Happy holidays and I hope many blessings [come] to you and your family/friends!!!”
