Jhene Finally Ended Things
A source close to Jhene told Media Take Out that the breakup didn’t come suddenly — it was the result of “multiple ultimatums” and long-standing disagreements about marriage.
According to the insider, Jhene truly believed that she and Sean were soulmates. “She wanted marriage — she wanted the commitment,” the source explained. “Sean loves her deeply, but he just never wanted to take that final step.”
The couple, who share a 3-year-old son, have been together (on and off) for years, collaborating on track and appearing inseparable to fans. But behind the scenes, that same source says Jhene grew tired of waiting.

“Eventually, she realized that ring wasn’t coming,” the insider shared. “She decided it was time to move on.”
Still on Good Terms
Despite the end of their romantic relationship, there’s no bad blood between them. Media Take Out has learned that Jhene and Sean remain close friends and loving co-parents to their son.
“They’re in a great place — it’s peaceful,” the source said. “They both respect each other too much to let things get messy. They just want to do what’s best for their child.”
A Love Story That Defined a Generation
Jhene and Big Sean’s relationship was one of the most public — and musically creative — love stories in hip-hop. From their Twenty88 project to heartfelt social media posts and red-carpet appearances, they often referred to each other as best friends, partners, and even twin flames.
Their chemistry was undeniable, both onstage and off. But as many fans have pointed out online, the couple’s journey has always had its share of pauses and restarts — and this time, sources tell us, it may be final.

Where They Go From Here
For immediately, both artists are reportedly focusing on their track and their family. Jhene has been in the studio working on new solo material, while Big Sean is preparing to release his next album.
And while this chapter may have closed, there’s still mutual love and respect between them — proof that not all breakups have to be bitter.
Because even if they’re not together romantically, Jhene Aiko and Big Sean will always be linked through love, art, and family.
