Jeff Bezos‘ mom Jackie Bezos has passed away.
Jackie‘s death was announced by the Bezos Scholar Program, who shared her obituary on their website.

The obituary revealed that Jackie died “peacefully” at the age of 78 on Thursday morning (August 14) at her home in Miami, Florida.
Jackie gave birth to Jeff while she was still in high school and was a “relentless” single mom caring for him until she met her husband Mike Bezos. She welcomed two more children with him and “dedicated her life to her family and poured her heart into raising her children with compassion, patience, and wisdom.”
The obituary notes that “in 2020, Jackie was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, a progressive neurological disorder that she battled with the same dignity and courage that shaped every aspect of her life. Mike, her husband and partner for more than a half century remained by her side at every step of this journey.”
The family is encouraging people to remember Jackie by “supporting a nonprofit organization that is meaningful to you or to perform a simple act of kindness in her memory.”
Jeff and his new wife Lauren Sanchez recently tied the knot during a star-studded wedding in Italy.
