Jamie King is opening up about Taylor Swift, the godmother of her kids, and her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
“Yeah, I’m f***ing stoked,” King, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly on October 23. “Like, this is absolutely, this is the person. This is her person. Yeah, I’m so happy.”
And like the world’s favorite gym teacher and English teacher, King is also basking in her own soon-to-be wedded bliss after announcing her engagement to financier Austin Sosa.
“I feel like my engagement is to myself, in the best way,” King told Us, adding that there are “so many beautiful things happening” in her personal life. “To me, an engagement is really about a love for oneself.”
She added, “I’m just really excited for this new time in my life. The person that I’m engaged to, I love deeply.”
King told Us that she and Sosa “met through mutual friends” before she got engaged to the investment banker earlier this year. King confessed to Us that the proposal was a surprise, revealing Sosa’s mother helped select both her engagement rings, one of which is Sosa’s family heirloom.
Describing her future mother-in-law as a “muse” and “angel,” King revealed to Us, “she has a helping hand in anything that matters to me. She’s just the most extraordinary human being, the most extraordinary creator, mother, person, human. And I just love her so deeply.”
The actress added, “I would never consider them as in-laws. They’re absolutely my family.”

While King is excited to spend the rest of her life with Sosa, she’s not in any rush to make plans to walk down the aisle. Instead, her priority is her two children, sons James Knight, 11, and Leo Thames, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband Kyle Newman. (The former couple settled their divorce in 2023.)
Swift, 35, and Kelce, 36, for their part, announced their engagement on August 25, sharing a joint post on Instagram along with pictures from the romantic proposal, which occurred shortly after Swift’s debut on her fiancé’s podcast, New Heights, with brother Jason Kelce.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they wrote at the time.
Since then, Swift has been opening up about her own nuptial plans while promoting her 12th studio, Life of a Showgirl.
“I’m just doing the album thing immediately, which is a big thing,” Shift dished during her October 3 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the day her new album was released. “And then I think the wedding is what happens after that in the scheme of the planning, but I’m so excited about it.”
Swift also opened up about Kelce’s romantic proposal, telling host Graham Norton that he “crushed it.”
“He really crushed it in surprising me,” she explained. “While we were talking on his podcast, he had a complete garden built out the back of his house to propose in. He went all out — 10 out of 10.”
Perhaps further proof that Swift has found “her person” in Kelce like King says, the pop star admitted that prior to her engagement she never thought about her potential future wedding day.
“You would think that I had been the type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want until I met the person,” she shared during an appearance on the U.K.’s Heart Radio in October 2025, noting she was “really excited” for her and Kelce’s next chapter together.
