
A super sweet moment happened at the Dawson’s Creek reunion.
The show’s original cast including Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, and Joshua Jackson, reunited for a staged reading of the pilot episode on Monday night (September 22) at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.

If you don’t know, the event was held to benefit Dawson actor James Van Der Beek and F Cancer. James announced his diagnosis with stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2024, after being diagnosed in 2023.
James could not be in attendance due to illness, but he did send a video message. Lin-Manuel Miranda stepped in to read the leading role in his place.
Broadway star Renée Elise Goldsberry acted as narrator for the evening, and led a sing-along of the show’s iconic theme song, “I Don’t Want to Wait” by Paula Cole. Well, a touching full-circle moment happened when James‘ wife Kimberly and all of their kids, Olivia, 14, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 11, Emilia, 9, Gwendolyn, 7, and Jeremiah, 3, joined the cast to sing as well.
