The world is still buzzing over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement, and today the NFL star’s brother Jason Kelce is weighing in on the happy news.
Taylor, 35, and Travis, 35, announced their engagement on August 26 with a joint Instagram post showing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposing in a flower-filled garden. The couple captioned their photos with the playful line: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.” The post featured Travis down on one knee, Taylor flashing her sparkling engagement ring, and sweet shots of the two celebrating the milestone together.
While fans, celebrities and Swifties everywhere showered the couple with love, Jason made sure to send his own congratulations during the August 27 episode of New Heights, the podcast he co-hosts with his brother.
“There is one gigantic piece of new news that just anthem the waves,” Jason said at the start of the episode. “We did record this podcast on Monday, which was Travis’ one day off so he is not here to address this himself but we felt necessary here as a team on New Heights to get together and send Travis and Taylor a giant congratulations for being engaged. The proposal heard ‘round the world, f***k yeah.”

The episode included a lighthearted video moment as Jason cut to the production team, who fist pumped and cheered before he let out an enthusiastic “yeah!”
Swift and Kelce first sparked dating rumors in summer 2023 after the NFL star admitted on New Heights that he had wanted to give Taylor his number following her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City. Though they didn’t meet that night, Travis later reached out and the two quickly connected. By September, their relationship was public, and they’ve been one of pop culture’s most-watched couples ever since.
From Taylor attending Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium to the couple’s kiss on the field after Kansas City’s Super Bowl victory on January 26, 2025, the romance has been filled with headline-making moments.
Insiders close to the couple had been expecting an engagement for months. “Everyone in Travis and Taylor’s world assumes an engagement is coming,” a source told Life & Style in February. “In fact, a lot of people find it pretty extraordinary that it hasn’t happened already.”
“He is so open about Taylor being the one,” the insider continued. “He wants to spend the rest of his life with her and vice versa.” Even Travis hinted at what was to come during the Super Bowl’s opening night on February 3 when he teased reporters with a sly grin: “Wouldn’t you like to know.”
