Jennifer Lopez might be working overtime to stay in the spotlight, but her fans don’t seem to be buying it, literally.
Following a canceled tour last year due to low ticket sales, Lopez is immediately on a global run performing at unexpected stops like Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Egypt. In Las Vegas, she’s prepping for a mini-residency, three shows for New Year’s and six in March. However, tickets are still widely available.
“(Lopez) made a offer for up to 100 shows over three years, but there’s been little interest so far from the fans, especially at these prices,” a track insider said, pointing to prices between $121 and $1300. A Lopez rep denied the 100-show claim, saying she has the option to do more “if she feels like it.”
Meanwhile, Dolly Parton’s two-week Vegas stint sold out within 24 hours, and resale tickets are going for over $10,000.
“It’s shocking how well Dolly did and how poorly JLo is doing (per sales),” the insider added.
In an effort to stay buzzworthy, Lopez has turned up the heat, teasing new, seductive track. She also debuted “Up All Night,” taking lyrical aim at ex-husband Ben Affleck.
Still, some insiders believe her constant reinvention is backfiring.
”It just all seems so desperate,” one said. “Maybe she should just stay home for a minute.”
Lopez is set to perform next in Warsaw, Poland.
