Abbie Duggar is hanging in there as she struggles with hyperemesis during her third pregnancy.
“A little over half way! We had a pretty rough go of it the first half and I am so thankful to be feeling much more like myself again!” Abbie, 33, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, September 27, along with a photo featuring her growing baby bump. “God is good! #pregnant #hyperemesis.”
A beaming Abbie could be seen wearing a dark pink maxi dress and cradles her bump in the photos, which were taken on an unidentified beach near sunset.
While marking the halfway point of her pregnancy, Abbie revealed she has been diagnosed with hyperemesis, a condition that occurs during pregnancy. Symptoms include severe nausea and vomiting, according to the Cleveland Clinic, and sometimes requires hospitalization in order to avoid severe pregnancy complications, including pregnancy loss.
Abbie is far from the only mom who has suffered from the condition. Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, infamously dealt with hyperemesis throughout all three of her pregnancies with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Ayesha Curry also contended with the condition during her third pregnancy. As she explained on an October 2021 episode of “Because Life” podcast, “I was sick every single day. I couldn’t keep food down. I couldn’t keep liquids down. I felt like trash. I actually lost weight.”
Abbie and husband John-David Duggar announced the pregnancy on September 3. The pair first met in June 2018, before going on to say “I do” in November of the same year. They later welcomed their two kids, Grace and Charlie, in January 2020 and October 2022, respectively.
“We’ve been keeping a little secret … 🤭🤗,” they captioned a joint Instagram post in early September 2025, announcing her current pregnancy. “Baby #3 arriving early 2026!!!”

The series of maternity photos also featured their oldest two children. Grace, 5, wore a pink dress that matched the colors in a “1” balloon, while Charlie, 3, held up a blue “2” balloon that went perfectly with his button-down best. John-David and Abbie held a white “3” balloon and a set of ultrasound photos.
The post prompted a lot of excitement from members of the Duggar family, who showed their support in the comments section. (John-David is one of 19 children of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.)
“Congrats! So excited for you all,” John-David’s twin sister, Jana Duggar, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday. Jana is also pregnant with her first baby with husband Stephen Wissman.
“We are settling into our new routine of life, which has included a few long nights as Gracie is still trying to figure out the difference between day and night,” the reality stars exclusively told Us Weekly following Gracie’s birth. “Mom and baby are both doing well, and we are very much in love with her!”
They continued: “It’s also been so nice to have good advice and help from our families. We are grateful for all the support they’ve shown us in this new and wonderful phase of our life.”
The duo announced Charlie’s birth on Instagram in October 2022. “We are immediately a family of 4,” Abbie and John-David wrote. “We welcomed little Charlie into the world last month and have been soaking up newborn snuggles ever since! We are so thankful to God for this precious gift!”
