The musician known by the stage name jxdn, Jaden Hossler, has shared a short video in which he practices the dance moves with his group and thus, he allowed us to see a little bit of the creative process. While the singer was showing some tiny bits of the song, he was also talking about the future of the track industry with a lot of excitement but at the same time admitting he had a “long way to go.”

The performer of pop-punk with a flair for the dramatic, who up to today had mainly been seen as a social media influencer, today seems to be taking the risk of revealing more his artistic side. The video shows jxdn in the midst of a dance session performing the choreography together with a group of male dancers which is a significant departure from his previous performances either solo or in a duet. The audio accompanying the visuals is melancholic and repetitive about the feeling of being alone and out of time, thus being a heavy emotional opposing force to the visual, which is bright and social. The controversy has quickly caught the attention of his loyal fan base and thus has provoked a nostalgic and encouraging reaction wave.
The long-time backers were taken straight back to the past as soon as the video came their way. One viewer expressed his feeling: “The good years of TikTok are not all wasted,” a view that was as if another supporter would say, “Dancing on TikTok 2019/2020 united for this.” These comments unmistakably signify the jxdn rise and fall saga from a trendy online star to a Travis Barker’s DTA Records signing musician. There was no denying that the clip banger hard, as one fancier claimed the dancing as being “the best part of the video actually,” and another, with less words, simply saying “I will never get over this.”
The change of direction for the musician was greatly anticipated. One fan in particular shouted out, “THE NEW ERA IS SO FUCKING GOOD,” which was a reflection of the general expectation feeling. Still, some really got so motivated that they even started planning their own contribution, with one person declaring, “we should all learn this dance and post videos of us dancing to this.” Another was so thrilled that he/she asked for a “dance practice video,” which showed the burning desire to learn the moves. Even jxdn’s mom, Amy Hossler Smith, was one of those who wanted to learn the dance. She wrote, “You know I wanna learn it…,” to which the singer jokingly replied, “at camp lol.”
Although a few people did post negative comments the number was minute compared to the positive ones. One of the not so nice remarks tried to put jxdn’s performance in the light of another musician, saying “wannabe Bieber and taking MGK’s style coming out with a pop song and dance moves.” This critique, however, was quickly countered by other users who came to jxdn’s aid, with one replying, “How the fk is he copying mgk and Justin? He’s just being himself.”
The discussions did not focus on the dancing but rather on a close communication with the audience. A user told a touching story of his/her own difficulty in believing writing, “Used to follow you. Unfollowed because I grew close to Christ and unfollowed a lot of people. Saw you had new track out. Love this song! I was so touched by your IG story today about your relationship with Jesus. Keep reaching for his hand!” This comment shows that jxdn has established an intimate connection with his followers, especially through his recent openness about his faith and personal growth.

With fans already asking about a possible “ep or album or deluxe,” and others eagerly waiting for his tour, it is very apparent that jxdn’s announcement has been effective in creating a lot of positive energy. The musician’s post is only partially similar to the dancing clip; it is a strategic view into the musician who is growing up, exploring new ways of artistic expression, and involving his audience at the same time. Nostalgia and a clear vision of the future come together in jxdn as he sets the excitement for his next chapter, proving that even though he still has a long way to go to reach it, the journey is already half the fun for all involved. Fans are already speculating about his next project, including the new album.
