The Boys cast received two Guinness World Records at MCM Comic Con. During a surprise ceremony Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara were handed awards for the most in-demand action-adventure TV show and the most in-demand superhero TV show.

The MCM Comic Con was a very joyous and a very emotional event. The ‘The Boys’ retailer series cast was completely blown away when the Guinness World Records representatives appeared on stage. They didn’t just give out one record, but a double that testified to the show’s tremendous international appeal. The moment was really thrilling when Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara sured together to receive the prizes.
In the video from the event, you could hear Urban saying how thankful he is quite clearly. The emotion in his voice was really strong when he addressed the audience. He took a moment to give recognition to the behind-the-screen persons who made the success of the show possible. He cited the creator Eric Kripke of the show by his name, referring to him as the ‘captain of the ship’, and complimenting his steering. Urban appreciated retailer and Sony Pictures, the production giants, for their constant support of the series and thanked them.
He pointed to the fantastic crew and above all, the loyal audience. He talked about how grateful they are to the audience for sticking with the show even after the fourth season. Urban also hinted about the future by saying that the cast is very happy to return for the already confirmed fifth season which is a strong sign that the show has impacted culture and has built a strong connection with its audience.
The audience’s reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Most enthusiastic of all, was one Comic Con attendee who said he felt the ‘huge wave of emotions and wrote, ‘It was so awesome to be there, I heard the feeling and thankfulness in his (Urban’s) voice.’ An audience member echoed this thought saying, ‘Same here. It was fantastic to be in the theater and listening to Karl’s (Urban’s) gratitude at the very end makes me looking forward to what the boys have prepared for us.’ The moment was very powerful and left a strong impression on the present audience.
Another person was very overjoyed and couldn’t hold back his/her compliment and kept shouting, ‘I WAS NEAR THE FRONTTTTT!’ The spectator together with the sign and one of the ears, however, did not stop there with just that brag but continued further to debate the issue of the teaser regarding the scar and Urban’s narrative which turned to be a very captivating talk on one of ‘The Boys’ resistant themes of the audience engagement and speculation that the show always generates.
Besides the excitement caused by the announcement of the world records the panel was the highlight of the convention for many. A first-time Comic Con visitor called it ‘such a great panel to enjoy at main stage today during my very first comic con!’ Another one was even more excited and said, ‘Glad the boys is getting its recognition it deserves# what’s a bunch of amazing creators on that show.’ The comments together painted the picture of a very successful and unforgettable event for both the cast and the fans.

The awards validate the quality of The Boys as a significant player in the contemporary TV landscape. The series has waved a toast to its immediately two-fold-guaranteed world records position in the pop culture past and present flow. MCM Comic Con surprise gala was truly a fitting tribute to the cast, the crew, and the hardcore fanbase without whom the show could not have reached these extraordinary heights.
