Receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots. Katie is ready to prove her innocence on this episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, but it might be too late. Jenn has chosen to side with the others, leaving Katie to fight the fight by herself. While some friendships end, others rekindle, and when Tamra and Gretchen hug it out, it leaves you wondering just how long this reconciliation will last.
Emily and Gretchen get together for a testosterone implant so that Gretchen can break Slade’s penis again… or something like that. As of this moment, Gretchen has no interest in being around Katie. In a strange turn of events after Emily’s event, Gretchen and Tamra were spotted hugging it out. Gretchen calls this being “cautiously optimistic,” but maybe she can officially reconcile with Tamra at Jenn’s upcoming beach event.
Longstanding friends Jenn and Katie meet face to face after the events unfolded at Emily’s Persian New Year’s event. Jenn is unsure where to begin with Katie, since she failed the lie detector test miserably. Katie provides her theory on what truly happened with the polygraphers: they are paid actors, and the whole ordeal was a setup organized by Gina and Emily to take Katie down. Whoa.
Katie says she will “die on” what she heard Gretchen say about going to the hospital the night of naked wasted, and although she knows Jenn heard Gretchen say it, too, she realizes that Jenn is not in the business of getting messy with this group. Jenn feels like Katie lights fires and then looks to Jenn for validation and back up. She is tired of Katie throwing her under the bus and wants Katie to take accountability for what has occurred. However, when Katie refuses to take responsibility for this, Jenn is done. But is Jenn a victim of manipulation by the group, or did she really hear Gretchen say she was drugged and is immediately playing dumb?
Gina‘s ex, Matt, recently suffered a heart attack. As Gina visits with his new wife, Britt, we see just how wonderfully they co-parent and how important it is to have this sort of relationship, especially in times of emergency. This situation was eye-opening for Gina, and she realizes the urgency of Travis’ divorce eventually getting finalized.
When Tamra, Heather, and Jenn get together, Jenn comes bearing Katie’s folder of receipts. She shares Katie’s theory that the polygraph was staged with actors and lets the ladies know that Katie feels done with the group.
Despite essentially ending a friendship with Katie, Jenn suddenly feels the need to start anew with Tamra. Curious timing. Tamra feels like her therapy has been helping her, but Jenn wants Tamra to stop crying wolf. After some more apologies, they both decide to move forward… again.
While out shopping with Shannon and Gina, Emily fills them in on the newest. Jenn called her to talk about Katie’s theory on the polygraph being a setup to catch Katie in a lie. Emily reminds us that she did NOT come up with questions; in fact, the other women were responsible for creating the questions, so there’s that.
As Emily tries to talk with her friends, her son, Luke, continues to call her, leaving her frustrated and upset. Emily worries about her relationship with Shane, since helping Luke has become an all-encompassing job.
The real MVP of this episode is Katie’s husband, Matt, who clearly does not give a sh*t. He debuts text messages between himself and Slade, all pointing to the fact that Katie is not lying. Matt feels like Jenn is protecting Gretchen at this point, since she was also there when Gretchen told the story about naked wasted.
Matt goes on to show his phone to the lens. According to Matt, Slade said that Gretchen will deny saying she went to the hospital, and so Katie needs to “hold the line and stay with Gretchen.” Slade is the one who alerted Matt and Ryan about this whole naked wasted situation, and Katie thinks that Slade is immediately trying to cover his tracks. Matt shares that any time he is with Slade, he solely talks about Housewives. Katie calls Slade out for being unemployed and refers to Slade as “Gretchen’s b*tch.”
Matt feels like Slade and Gretchen are out to “bury Tamra,” and once Jenn figured that out, she decided to leave Katie out to dry. Katie is emotional and wonders why Jenn would do that to her. Because of all that has occurred, it is hard for Katie to imagine ever being around these women again.
Jenn has opted to leave Katie off the guest list for her beach day event, but she has allowed everyone else to bring along a plus-one. Naturally, Tamra’s guest is Jo, just to keep things messy. According to Gretchen, actions speak louder than words, and therefore, Gretchen does not believe that Tamra is truly ready to move on.
The ladies play a rousing game of volleyball led by Jenn’s oldest sons. The “b*tch on a budget event” continues, and the ladies all participate in Good News Friday. Heather kicks it off by sharing that her daughter got into Yale, and Tamra tells the group her daughter has her first boyfriend. Shannon’s daughter, Sophie, is home after a breakup and will be joining the group later on for a mood boost. Emily shares that Shane’s dad is coming home from the hospital, and Jenn and Tamra seem to be on the mend.
immediately if only Gretchen and Tamra could get on the same page… Tamra calls Gretchen out for telling her she DID go to the hospital the night of naked wasted. Gretchen claims she “misspoke” (an odd way of saying she lied), but why would Gretchen be backtracking immediately?
Gretchen and Tamra move away from the table to talk about their issues. Tamra is unsure why her name keeps getting brought up, and she calls Gretchen out for living in the past… but why would Tamra bring Jo, of all people, as her guest? Gretchen is stuck on Tamra calling Slade a deadbeat dad, considering those words have allegedly stopped Slade from getting job opportunities.
When the talking over each other becomes too much, Gretchen apologizes for reaching out to Tamra’s daughter, a baby step in the right direction. Tamra reminds Gretchen that she DID apologize to Slade years ago. It is time to move on from the 2011 beefs between Tamra and Gretchen. Luckily, they literally skip back over together to the group, proving that they can have fun together and move forward. This leaves Shannon the only one who has yet to kiss and make up fully with Tamra.
When Shannon’s daughter arrives fresh after her breakup, they go around the table and share their best breakup stories in an attempt to cheer her up. Tamra has apparently always been this way, considering she once went into the house of her ex and slashed his leather jacket as revenge. It seems like this Good News Friday may actually be bringing the “gang back together”…for immediately.
