Kevin Jonas had the Fenway Park crowd — and his wife Danielle Jonas — in tears during a milestone moment on the Jonas Brothers’ Greetings From Your Hometown tour.
The 37-year-old guitarist shocked fans in Boston on August 23 when he stepped into the spotlight for his first-ever solo performance of an original song titled “Changing.” Though Kevin has been performing with his brothers Nick and Joe for two decades, the moment marked the first time he took the stage alone with his own track.
In fan videos shared across social media, Nick introduced the performance with, “Ladies and gentlemen, please make some noise for Kevin Jonas.” Kevin then walked out with a guitar in hand and admitted to the sold-out Fenway crowd, “I’m super nervous,” before launching into the heartfelt track.
The audience roared as Kevin strummed through the unreleased ballad, and by the end, his younger brothers returned to the stage to embrace him. The crowd chanted Kevin’s name as he swapped guitars and tried to hold back emotion.
But it was Danielle who may have felt the proudest. The mother of two documented the performance in an emotional Instagram post the following day, sharing videos of herself crying as she watched her husband shine.
“Last night was a moment I will never forget,” Danielle, 37, wrote on August 24. “Hearing you sing your own song and watching your voice fill the stadium brought me to tears. I am beyond proud of you @kevinjonas and so grateful that everyone else finally got to hear the voice I’ve loved for so long.”
Danielle’s post also included a touching video of their daughters, Alena, 10, and Valentina, 7, watching the performance via FaceTime. She later joined Kevin backstage, where the couple celebrated the career milestone with a sweet embrace.
Kevin himself reflected on the night in his own Instagram post, writing, “Thank you Fenway! Will never forget this night.”
The Boston show was a memorable one for the entire group, featuring surprise appearances from JoJo, Jesse McCartney and Dashboard Confessional. Nick also praised the night on X, calling it one of his “favorite Jonas Brothers shows ever.”
With the band celebrating 20 years together, Kevin recently told E! News that this tour feels especially meaningful. “The fact that we can continue to play track and continue to play live, we know how special it is,” he said. “This one’s gonna be really special. It’s gonna be not only a celebration, but it’s also a celebration of what’s to come.”
