Kim Kardashian is bringing her SKKN by Kim brand to a close, officially ending her standalone beauty venture just over three years after its 2022 launch.
The move comes as the reality star and entrepreneur focuses on consolidating her business interests under Skims, her highly successful shapewear and fashion brand.
A statement on SKKN’s website informed customers of the closure: “With deep gratitude, we share that SKKN BY KIM will be winding down operations. While this chapter is coming to a close, the commitment to innovation, self-care, and skin confidence that SKKN embodied will live on in new and exciting ways.”
SKKN faced a challenging market from the start. The brand’s nine-step skincare regimen carried a cost exceeding $600, making it difficult to attract a broad audience despite Kardashian’s star power.
In 2024, the brand attempted a comeback with a SKKN by Kim makeup relaunch that included lip liners, powders, and an eyeshadow palette. Nevertheless, SKKN did not achieve the same cultural impact as Skims, which has become a global fashion powerhouse with loungewear, swimwear, and menswear collections.
Kim, has been strategically consolidating her ventures under Skims, a brand valued at $4 billion. This decision reflects her focus on creating a unified business empire that spans multiple sectors.
Industry sources suggest that she may revisit the beauty market with a Skims Beauty launch in 2026, potentially combining fashion and cosmetics under a single Kardashian-led brand.
Closing SKKN by Kim marks the end of one chapter in Kardashian’s business journey, but it also signals the beginning of a new era.
