Lately, La Toya was presenting to her fans the up-to-date in eat-prayer-and-love cuisine. She posted a picture of her organic meal, asserting her stance in not supporting food with harm-inflicting additives or chemicals. The caption read: “Trying to make healthier choices, strictly #organic with all the forever chemicals, PFAS, additives, pesticides, fillers that are put in food is so unhealthy most of us don’t realise it! Artificial produce chemicals, used to enhance the food to give it a longer shelf life. So I prepared this!❤️.”

Of course, the post did grab the frenzy amongst followers and foodies alike, with many pouring in with their opinions. Most praised the way of life, some gave suggestions on how she might improve her dish. One fan stated: “Latoya!! Put a piece of baked chicken on that plate! ❤️❤️.” Another said: “love the healthy life choices you’re making. that must be your secret to living such a long and fulfilling life! i also love how you remain so positive 💗.”
But the conversation didn’t end there. Others felt strongly about what was left of the plate. “Looks delish, just missing onions and hot water cornbread. 😍😋” Another advised: “Add Some Sliced Onion On Them Then Add Some Hot Sauce‼️Thank Me Later😘😂” Clear as day; this caused quite some commotion, both in admiration and culinary criticism.
Yet, some did not see the humor in it. One said humorously: “I thought it was a dessert 😩😬🤦🏾♀️,” while the others bluntly said: “Ur gonna need more than that lol.” The comments themselves painted an interesting picture: straddling the spectrum of being supportive to being skeptical, which almost sums up society’s overall take on food.
La Toya’s post brought a snap out of conventional eating curve. “Imma have to start eating like this,” shared one fan. Another shouted, “Learning to do the same and make better choices. I love it!” Her message clearly drew in a big crowd: that organic lifestyle.
Of course, there can’t be a food discussion without asking for some nostalgia. “Toya always been tiny and thin with a long waist…even when she was bigger than this she was still small…nothing new🤷♀️,” stated one follower. The other was remembering her eating times: “I’m glad you’re making changes as of late. However, you spent decades eating out at restaurants all around the world, not knowing where the food came from, how it’s prepared or who cooked it.”

Whether one is a purist when it comes to the way she eats or a complete cynic, one thing is for sure: the post made speakers out of many. Her Instagram update became more than just a shot of a cuisine; it became a feast: a banquet of discussions on what is really a meal, an argument about the benefits of eating organic. Food and food-talk become an orchestra for strong opinions and even stronger cravings. So when you want to set up a plate tomorrow, why don’t you take a few steps towards La Toya’s playground and see where the gossip heads from there?
