LaLa Anthony Says Carmelo Anthony Divorce Was ‘Incredibly Hard’ While Playing Out Publicly: ‘You’re Dying Inside’
LaLa Anthony is candidly reflecting on the emotional toll of her divorce from former NBA star Carmelo Anthony.
During a new episode of the “IRL Podcast”with Angie Martinez, LaLa described the experience as “the hardest part of my life” and shared how difficult it was to endure it under public scrutiny.
“They’re watching everything. So then you have the fake smile … and you’re fucking dying inside,” she said. “It is incredibly hard, incredibly hard. But what are you going to do? You gotta push forward.”
She emphasized that the pain can linger for years. “Nobody gets married with the thought of getting divorced,” she said. “You marry somebody thinking that’s who you’re going to be with for the rest of your life.”
LaLa and Carmelo began dating in 2003, wed in 2010, and share a son, Kiyan. She filed for divorce in 2021, citing irreconcilable differences.
