The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation after a body was found inside an impounded Tesla at a tow yard in Hollywood. Following the discovery, Eyewitness News reported that the vehicle is registered to singer D4vd.
Officers reported to the scene in the 1000 block of N. Mansfield Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 8, after it had been reported that a foul odor was coming from an impounded vehicle.
According to the LAPD, the impounded car had been at the property for a few days. The body was found inside of a bag in the front trunk of the vehicle, though it has not yet been revealed who the deceased person was.
However, the 2023 Tesla is registered in Hempstead, Texas, to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, according to Eyewitness News.

The car was discovered just one day before D4vd, 20, is scheduled to perform in Minneapolis on Tuesday, September 9. He is currently performing on his Withered world tour, which began in August. However, it’s not clear how the vehicle ended up in Los Angeles, as the tour isn’t scheduled to stop in the California town until September 20.
D4vd is best known for his 2022 songs “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” which quickly became hits on TikTok. Following his success on social media, he signed with Darkroom and Interscope Records. D4vd went on to release two extended plays, Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, in 2023, while he released five singles, including his banger “Feel It,” the following year. The musician released his debut album, Withered, on April 25.

The singer – who has over 2 million followers on Instagram – previously shared a lengthy post while announcing his debut album. “Thank you all eternally for waiting on me. This album means SO much to me you have no idea the blood sweat and tears that came with trying to create this project over the past 2 years,” he wrote in February. “Constantly starting over and over and over until there was nothing left on this audio landscape of a canvas than thoughts, melodies, and emotions that were unequivocally me.”
While he did share a photo of himself with fellow musician Malcolm Todd on his Instagram Stories on September 8, D4vd has not publicly responded to his car being linked to the crime.
