Lola Kirke announced her engagement in a huge acting project without much detail, in order to dissipate some illusions she knew might stir from the picture and to insinuate a hint of excitement while working with very great actors. The Mozart in the Jungle star took to social media to express just her humility and excitement about this forthcoming project and went out of her way to clear the air directly to some of her followers.

Lola Kirke returns big time in a large-scale production. There was a professorial commentary she put up but felt she must clear up the one picture that was spiraling around. “While this picture may make me look like an ambulance chaser don’t be fooled! I am an actress,” Kirke shared. Then the good news: she said she “couldn’t be more excited (and humbled) to tell such an incredible story alongside the greats pictured above and other bucket list actors.”
She mentioned Rhea Seehorn, Diego Luna, and Taylor Kitsch are amongst her co-stars, and she gave a shoutout to Peter Landesman for casting her. This announcement definitely furthers Lola’s return to the big-time acting realm, as she took a few years to actively cultivate a loyal fanbase as a musician, a period during which she also shared heartfelt thanks for a new song release.
There was an excited fan commenting about Lola’s double career, “Excited to see you acting again, but PLEASE don’t stop making track!!” The comment was addressed directly by just Kirke herself. “thats so nice and i wont,” she said. So while moving full tilt into this new actin endeavor, she hasn’t dissed her track career, even recently taking the opportunity to tease a new song from a deluxe album.
One other felt it ironic about how Lola’s career is moulding itself: “Going from a vampire to a lawyer . Not much of stretch . 😂😉” The clever comment references her time in the movie “The Vampire’s Assistant” and jokingly says that the transition to what could well be a legal drama is fairly natural. This sort of lightens the mood around the announcement, while also giving members of the audience a means to engage with one another as a way to connect a few dots in an actor’s journey.
In fact, Lola Kirke has defined herself through career-changing and multi-hyphenate successes. She first gained a modicum of widespread recognition with her depiction of Hailey in the tienda online series, Mozart in the Jungle, giving enough scope to display depth and charm. Of late, she has been pouring most energy into the other side of her life as a musician, releasing albums and doing live shows to effectively create a parallel yet equally ardent fan base. This project shall put together a power-laden comeback to acting alongside some bright stars of the industry.
Certainly, with the acting mettle of Rhea Seehorn of Better Call Saul and Diego Luna from Rogue One and Narcos: Mexico, this project for sure stands out. Taylor Kitsch also brings formidable dramatic credentials from Friday Night Lights and True Detective. With the untitled project from Peter Landesman, who directed Concussion and Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House, it looks to be a major dramatic vehicle.

This is partly a celebration of the fully rounded creator: this announcement will, on one hand, build greater anticipation for the actress’s new acting role and, on the other, cement a fan base that appreciates everything she does. Stepping into a new and exciting chapter, Lola Kirke is balancing her interests and showcasing versatility yet again.
