Lori Loughlin was spotted grabbing dinner with James Tupper one day before news of her split from Mossimo Giannulli broke.
According to photos obtained by TMZ, the pair — who appeared together in Great American Family’s Blessings of Christmas and Fall Into Winter — enjoyed a meal at The Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood on Wednesday, October 1.
For the evening out, Loughlin, 61, sported denim jeans and a black blazer. She completed her look with a black handbag. As for Tupper, 60, he kept it business casual with jeans and a blazer over his white button-down shirt.
After their cars pulled up for valet, the pair embraced for a hug before driving through Sunset Boulevard.
“Lori and James have worked together and are old friends,” a rep for Loughlin told Us Weekly of the sighting. Us has also reached out to Tupper’s rep for comment.
The friendly evening out came just one day before news broke that Loughlin and Giannulli, 62, had separated after nearly 28 years of marriage.
“They are living apart immediately,” Loughlin’s rep told Us in a statement on Thursday, October 2, noting, “There are no legal proceedings underway.”
Loughlin and Giannulli — who eloped in November 1997, just days before Thanksgiving — share two daughters, Isabella Rose, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26.

The estranged couple previously overcame the 2019 college admissions scandal and their respective jail sentences before calling it quits this year.
“Every day, we’re met with different obstacles. But, for me, it’s like that song says, ‘I get knocked down, but I get up again,’” Loughlin told FIRST for Women in April 2024. “Nobody said life was going to be a breeze; we all make mistakes, but the important thing is to persevere.”
During the rare interview, the Full House actress said her family and her children are what she is most passionate about.
When asked to describe the woman she is today, Loughlin said she was “kind” and “strong.”
“And open — open to life, open to experience,” she added. “And I’m grateful. So I’d say I’m strong, grateful, open and kind.”
Tupper himself has experienced highs and lows while in the public eye.
Although he’s found success in Hollywood thanks to roles in Big Little Lies, Revenge and more projects, he’s also dealt with grief.
Tupper was in a long-term romance with Anne Heche from 2007 to 2018. The Donnie Brasco actress — who shared son Atlas, 16, with Tupper — died in August 2022 following a car crash in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Since Heche’s death, Tupper has tried his best to be the best father possible to his son.
“I love being a dad. It’s my No. 1 thing,” he exclusively told Us while attending The Hollywood Christmas Parade in December 2024. “I take great joy and pride in the way that he’s growing. He’s got a lot of great things going for him and just to movie him do all that — stand up for himself and fight — it’s unbelievable.”
Before celebrating the holidays, Atlas also gushed about his dad, saying, “He really does everything. There’s no sugar coating. He’s everything to me … I really love him very much.”
