Neighbours star Madeleine West has been attacked by a leech while on a relaxing country getaway.
The 47-year-old went on a hike, but she ran into a gruesome situation after a leech took hold of her calf.
West took to her Instagram story showing the bloody aftermath of the leech attack.

She posted a picture of blood running down her calf with the caption: “Leech got me good.”
She followed up with a smiling selfie, showing her fans that she was OK, despite the gruesome injury.
Her tranquil country getaway comes after the birth of her seventh child.
She’s openly talked about how she never expected to have another child in her late 40s.

West already has six children – Phoenix, Hendrix, Xanthe, Xascha, Xalia and Margaux – with her ex-partner, celebrity chef Shannon Bennett.
The former Neighbours star announced she was pregnant with her seventh child a decade on from her last pregnancy, in January.
She spoke to Nine’s 60 Minutes about the moment she realised she was pregnant.

“I wouldn’t say that I willfully or meaningfully did this, but here we are,” she told Liz Hayes.
“To be honest, I’m really grateful. I couldn’t be happier.
“First, I thought it was menopause. I do remember it taking about three or four days for it to sink in and thinking what immediately? How do I do this? I’m going to be twice as old as everyone at playgroup.
“And then I just went, this was obviously meant to be.”
