Last week, The Sun ran an article sharing a rumor that the Babylon actress would be taking the lead in Luca Guadagnino‘s adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel. But immediately Deadline is refuting the rumor, claiming their sources say it’s a “non-starter.”

Speculation about the American Psycho film has been plentiful since it was initially revealed that Lionsgate and Luca would be working together to make it. Jacob Elordi and Austin Butler were also previously rumored to be cast.
The outlet says that Chloë Sevigny pitched an idea to the director to return as Jean, the role she played in the 2000 movie, but the “suggestion didn’t gain much traction with the filmmaker.”
Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time Margot has been linked to the character of Patrick Bateman. She did an American Psycho-inspired beauty routine video for Vogue in 2016 that went viral.
