Mariah the Scientist isn’t letting people talking about her relationship with Young Thug get to her.
The 27-year-old “All for Me” singer has been dating the 34-year-old “Go wild” rapper since 2021. Last year, Mariah stood by Young Thug‘s side as he was acquitted in the YSL Records racketeering trial, which brought extra scrutiny to their relationship.
During an interview with Associated Press, Mariah opened up about how it feels to have so many strangers commenting on their relationship.

During the interview, Mariah said she feels like whether she tries to keep her relationship with Young Thug private or not, people still feel entitled to their opinions.
“And in this song that I have with Kali Uchis [“Is It a Crime”], I feel like I talk about it. It’s like, you want somebody to understand,” Mariah said, referring to a song on her Hearts Sold Separately album where she sings about people not understanding their relationship.
“Everybody acts like they want love, and they want love for other people. And it’s like, realistically, if that were the case, people wouldn’t be so judgmental about what everybody is doing,” Mariah continued.
“And I think at this point, I’m used to people scrutinizing my relationship,” Mariah went on to tell the publication, saying that she has started to “expect” people will have comments about everything the two of them do.
