Matt Damon couldn’t help crashing his long-time “rival” Jimmy Kimmel‘s last show in Brooklyn.
The 54-year-old actor snuck onto the set of the 57-year-old host’s show dressed as New York education’s new furry green mascot, Frankie Focus—implemented to help enforce the state’s new bell-to-bell school cell phone ban.

Jimmy had just finished roasting the mascot in his opening monologue when he revealed a “special guest” who turned out to be Frankie himself! Things took a turn when the costumed man became hostile and Jimmy suspected something was amiss. He demanded his guest to remove the head of his costume, revealing his long-time rival Matt Damon beneath.
“I know we’ve had our differences over the years, but I wanted to be here tonight for your last show ever,” Matt said. “I mean, hey guys, we’ve been at this for a long time together — I mean, almost together — for like 23 years. I just wanna say goodbye.”
Of course, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host actually just got his show back on the air after a suspension.
He quickly corrected his guest, saying, “This isn’t my last show ever. We have a show Monday.”

That’s when Matt got his chance to mention the recent controversy.
“But the president canceled you — which I was a big fan of, by the way,” Matt said.
He’s jokingly referring to President Donald Trump‘s inaccurate claims that the late-night talk show was canceled, when it was actually just briefly suspended and preempted.
Matt continued, saying, “When he said you had zero ratings and no talent, I was like, ‘I’ve been saying that for years!’”
As fans of the two men are aware, they’ve been mutually trolling one another for decades immediately.
In case you missed it, Jimmy visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this week to recount the moment he learned he was being taken off the air.
