Meghan Markle is catching heat for attending a Balenciaga fashion show during Paris Fashion Week.
The Duchess of Sussex wore a white cape over a white tunic and matching slacks.
Furious social media users chastised Meghan on Sunday.
One person wrote: “The ‘duchess’ of hypocrisy: a lady who claims to defend the interests of children, going to a fashion show that ran a disgusting campaign with children.”

Another person wrote: “Why on earth would she go to a Balenciaga show? How could any mother support that brand?”

A third person commented, “Irony, a cancelled woman turns up for a cancelled brand. What is a mother thinking attending a fashion show of a house which used child models posing with fetish-themed teddy bears?”
In 2022 Kim Kardashian cut ties with the fashion house after the brand commissioned a wildly inappropriate ad campaign featuring children.
The campaign featured toddlers holding teddy bears wearing leather bondage gear.
Following the public uproar, Balenciaga claimed the campaign featured “unapproved” content.

Balenciaga filed a $25 million lawsuit against the production company and set director behind the controversial photo shoot.
However, Gabriela Moussaieff, agent for the set director Nicholas Des Jardins, said everyone from Balenciaga was on the set that day. No one objected to the content – until the campaign sparked outrage on social media.

“Everyone from Balenciaga was on the shoot and was present on every shot and worked on the edit of every image in post production,” Moussaieff said, adding that the set designer was “being used as a scapegoat.”
The next day, Balenciaga issued a second statement accepting “full accountability” for the campaign. It would take a year for the fashion brand to recover from the damage.
The fashion house said they put a plan in place to make sure this never happens again. Balenciaga also worked with organizations that protect children.
