They were joined by co-stars Max Parker, Liam Oh, Dominic Goodman, Blake Burt and Brandon Tyler Moore, as well as showrunners Andy Parker and Jennifer Cecil. Greg Cope White was also in attendance – he wrote the book “The Pink Marine” which the show is inspired by, and he also serves as a co-executive producer on the series.
The crew took part in a Clips & Conversation panel, which was moderated by Tommy DiDario, followed by a “BOOTSCamp” experience.
Boots is set in the tough, unpredictable world of the 1990s US Marine Corps—when being gay in the military was still illegal—the series follows directionless, closeted Cameron Cope (Heizer) and his best friend Ray McAffey (Oh), the son of a decorated Marine, as they join a diverse group of recruits. Together, this ensemble navigates the literal and metaphorical landmines of boot camp, forging unlikely bonds and discovering their true selves in an environment designed to push them to their limits. With sharp wit and plenty of heart, BOOTS is about friendship, resilience, and finding your place in the world—even when that world seems determined to keep you in line or leave you behind.
The upcoming coming-of-age, LGBTQ+ series premieres THIS Thursday (October 9) on Netflix. Check out the trailer here!
