Moniece Slaughter just issued a birthday wish for her collaborator and friend, Rio Harris-and the controversial subject of conversation is the clip she culled. The L&HH alum posted a snip of awkward moments between Chrisean and her during the birthday festivities that provoked mixed reactions online. Many things were meant to acknowledge Harris’s attitude towards work, but many considered it wrong to do so at that time with the chosen content.

Moniece sends love to Rio Harris in this viral post for being such a great support and creative partner in her life. She’s calling him the rock for whatsoever he did-taking her ideas for television shows and being there for her even in the “12th hour.” But rather than opting for a cute selfie or bittersweet memory, Moniece threw in an interview clip that came off as awkward with adequate timing concerning Chrisean Rock.
The clip sees Moniece attempting to maintain a conversation, while Chrisean is at the dismissive-leaning-defensive level. At one moment, Chrisean interrupted, “y’all talking too much,” creating an inside-out tension that forced an awkward atmosphere to ensue. Moniece clued up on the messy details, stating that it was she who was being interviewed, and not the other way round, and that the show was Rio’s podcast and not hers.
The higher number of fans were not in support of the tribute. Some called it messy, shade-throwing, and straight clout-chasing.
One of the users said, “lol I’m sure you had better pics/videos to post in honor of his birthday 😂” Oops! They weren’t the only ones giving side-eyes to the clip selection.
Another one chimed in about the irony, saying, “Even though this was type messy for Moniece to post for her friends birthday post, the message has a message in it but the person it was for wasn’t receiving it.” That commenter went on to say that Moniece was kind of defending Chrisean by questioning Blueface’s influence-but Chrisean ain’t having that.
Then there were others who went on ahead and defended Moniece’s good intentions while praising Rio’s professionalism. “This clip showed how amazing Rio is at what he does! Yall are too focused on the negative,” one fan exclaimed, basically stating that the real takeaway was how Rio was able to handle that hard interview with such grace.
Then there was the “Did she not have any other way to show how amazing he is at what he does?” Touché. Others were throwing accusations of bad intentions straight away. “Why use Chrisean interview to say happy birthday why you couldn’t use a pick off his page,” another asked, followed by, “Yall obviously be using that damn shorty for more views and clicks.” The sentiment was echoed by many who, even on someone else’s birthday post, felt like Chrisean’s name is still cashed in for engagement.

More empathetic ones came in with, “You could have honored your friend in a different way… people don’t talk about the good they always want to shine light on the past and the negative.” That user made it clear that, nowadays, both Chrisean and Blueface are moving on, healing, and building a life, so perhaps it’s time for the negative chapter to close.
With that, the fandom still threw some shouts of “Happy Birthday to your friend!” going for positivity. One other said, “Idk who @rioharris is but man he is handsome. Happy Birthday sir.” That was a wholesome moment amidst drama.
Moniece has always maintained and claimed she speaks her mind and stands her ground. Well, this time, the execution was definitely celebrating agitatingly. Whether genuine or a slight jab, one thing for sure is that the internet is tuned for whatever Moniece steps into after that.

It’s Rio’s Birthday after all, so hopefully, he’s somewhere sunny, unbothered, and enjoying his vacay. As for Moniece? She ended her caption with a warning that when he gets back, she is “on his nerves all over again.” Some things never change.
