Nathan Sykes of The Wanted went for a quiet spa weekend instead of perhaps the usual fun stag event. He described it as a sort of “safe space” uniting much-needed rest. Sykes said that initially the concept of a traditional, noisy stag event was too much for him and he had a lot of coaxing to be at ease with the idea.

The post was augmented by a picture of Sykes sprawling with arms wide open in pure adulation and utter relaxation, right in front of the majestic entryway of the gorgeous country estate spa of Champneys. He wore simple attire consisting of a white T-shirt, light shorts, and a cap. The red brick building stood tall in the backdrop, flanked by ornamental wrought iron gates on either side and greenery all around — a perfect setting for serenity as described in the caption.
Fans started populating the comments section already, with excitement about the upcoming day of matrimony. “How excited are you both today? Do you get butterflies?” came a query, while there was another that read simply: “Wedding day imminent.😍” There was this very strong enthusiastic intention in the air, shared by his followers who wished well for the couple with all their hearts.
The thread gave way to a small culture clash. One follower from the U.S. queried, “Question, so first off I’m from America, what is stag?” The question generated a few responses explaining the British terminology with one saying, “You guys call it a bachelor event,” while another stated, “Here we have stag (men) or hen (women).”
One comment asked in jest. “Did you get drunk on oat milk lattes?” Sykes even jumped into the conversation with another humorous anecdote: “my mate tried to purchase shots, and they said he was the first to ever ask that and they haven’t ever done them so they came up with whatever the hell was in the 3rd pic.” This exchanged demonstrated an effort on Sykes’ part to interact with his fans and share some funny stories from the unorthodox event.
Another person exclaimed, “Self care king! This looks ideal to be fair 😂.” Sykes responded, “I don’t think I went in the pool once but found out that a massage is an almost immediate cure for a hangover. So it was also insightful.” Quite an insightful realisation made his lounging around more relatable.
Authentic joy permeated the comments in response to the owner’s orientation of pre-wedding affairs. Instead of what should be a stag event, it was really a chartered event made to suit his comfort. His admission of being initially overwhelmed with stag ideas resonated with many of his followers, who cherished his candidness about personal boundaries.

What Sykes’ spa day also showed is the increasing personalization of pre-wedding festivities, as it goes further away from the traditional format. Sykes’ and his liners were at once relaxing and enlightening, showing how some of the funnest celebrations are those which essentially can represent the person being celebrated. today that the very concept of wedding celebrations is evolving, the Sykes precedent provides any couple with an alternative method of celebrating big milestones without pushing the comfort of the individuals to the background.
