NeNe Leakes is calling out Lisa Vanderpump for allegedly swiping her idea and a prime location.
On the Talk and Block podcast, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum claimed Vanderpump had manipulated her out of buying the West Hollywood space that later became Pump.
“[There’s] something [Lisa] did to me that … I’ve never really addressed,” NeNe said. “I know a lot of people look at her like [she’s a certain way]. I’m like, she did some real foul s–t to me.”
The Bravo star explained she and her late husband Gregg had been living in Doheny Estates while she was filming Glee and The New Normal. Driving through West Hollywood, she noticed an empty lot near The Abbey and thought, “It would be so cool if I had a bar right in here somewhere.”
Unsure, she phoned Vanderpump for advice. “She [responded], ‘Oh darling, darling, it’s a piece of crap and they’re charging so much for it, darling.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, I love it, I think it’s a great space.’ … She talked me [out of it], and went and got it [herself].”
NeNe didn’t hold back: “That’s so f–ked up. The next thing I know, [she opened] Pump [there]. I was like, is this b—h serious?”
According to NeNe, Vanderpump “never” apologized. “She just looks at me funny, like … she knows [that I] know,” she said, later dubbing her former friend “Vander-lump.”
Pump went on to become a hotspot featured on Vanderpump Rules before closing in 2023.
