NewsNation and CNN are turning to a cable news mainstay — town halls — amid the government shutdown and concerns over the Trump administration’s immigration raids.
On Wednesday from 8 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET, NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo will host a town hall event before a live audience at the Kennedy Center, with border czar Tom Homan among the scheduled guests. Also on the lineup: former Sen. Joe Manchin, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and podcasters Benny Johnson and Adam Mockler. Joining Cuomo will be Stephen A. Smith and Bill O’Reilly. Leland Vittert will host an edition of On Balance at 10 p.m., and the town hall will be simulcast on The CW.
At 9 p.m. ET, CNN will host Shutdown America: A CNN Town Hall with Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Kaitlan Collins will host, before an audience of Democrats, Republicans and independents, as well as those impacted by the shutdown. The event, from Washington, will also air on CNN International and CNN en Español .
