
Nicholas Hoult has announced that he has been forced to pull out of his appearance at the 2025 New York Comic-Con.
The 35-year-old Superman actor was scheduled to reunite with X-Men co-stars James McAvoy and Elliot Page for a panel at the big event, which takes place from October 9 through October 12.
In a new video shared on Monday (October 6), Nicholas announced that he will be skipping Comic-Con after undergoing knee surgery “a couple of weeks ago.”
Keep reading to find out more…“I’m so sorry to tell you that I won’t be able to join you this time,” Nicholas said in a video posted to Comic-Con’s Instagram. “Unfortunately, I had knee surgery a couple of weeks ago and I can’t walk or fly yet, so I’m not going to be able to make it. I was really looking forward to it, so I’m sorry.”
“I hope you have a wonderful weekend and hopefully I’ll be joining you in the near future and get to see you all soon,” the Emmy-nominated actor added.
While he didn’t specify what type of knee surgery he had, most surgical procedures carry a risk of developing deep vein thrombosis, or blood clots, if the person flies too soon after surgery. According to the National Institute of Health, some surgeons advise waiting up to three months to fly after some types of knee surgeries.
