Famous for his comedic content, especially the ones he makes with people from the Bollywood industry, he is currently facing backlash for a video that he posted, which many people found to be offensive to the transgender community. Known for having a flamboyant personality and a sharp online presence, Orry recently shared a video on his Instagram account, which was found to be derogatory for many. The video included a transgender slur in it, which has faced major backlash from netizens online, as well as the famous transgender actress and influencer, Trinetra.
What was Orry’s video about?
Orry recently took to his Instagram to share a video from a comedy show set, where two actors could be seen dressed up as transgender women. They both appeared to be in a mock fight, and Orry captioned the video as “POV: you attended a comedy show, and two chakkas get into a quarrel behind you.” He then followed it with, But how can she slap (crying emoji)?” The post quickly blew up and gained a lot of negative attention from people all over the internet.

The video caused a lot of outrage from people, with netizens rushing to the comment section to express their disappointment with the influencer’s usage of derogatory words and slurs. Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju, an Indian actress, doctor, and influencer, also voiced her opinion regarding the same and commented a firm “NO” in the comment section. One user said, “This is EMBARRASSING, Orry! Using a slur that demeans an entire community is LOW!” while another commented, “Not funny. Mocking trans women while profiting off queer culture is pure hypocrisy.”
People joined in, calling the reel “tone-deaf” and “distasteful.” One user commented, “When you dress up like Sabrina or any other woman for cosplay and South Bombay chic but use a slur without impunity? This is not cool!”
