The beauty creator known as Patrick Starrr recently made a viral change to hair and makeup tutorials for a very valid reason. Not only does the tutorial ‘How I Would Do My Makeup As A Blonde Part 2’ stand out for the bold wig styles that it features, but unlike traditional beauty vlogs, it is also a tutorial sculpture on personal styles, skin protection, and bold beauty.

The tutorial begins with Patrick, beauty vlogger and founder of One/size beauty, wearing a blonde wig as he attempts to achieve the ‘natural whole beat’ look for blonde hair, a look that is immediately synonymous with beauty vlogs. He makes a very important remark as he begins his routine, “You can wear sunscreen on best of and underneath your makeup.” As he applies a generous amount of SPF 50 stick to avoid makeup and blonde hair transfer later on, he gives some ‘blonde’ advice he received, describing how blonde does tend to catch on makeup, and he does not want ‘little tan pieces on the face.’
He then uses makeup magnet primer which not only serves as a primer but also keeps everything in place. Patrick expresses how he can’t complain, “Oh no, I do not want my makeup to come off on my blonde hair.” Then, the real magic begins. One/Size’s custom skin tint for their foundation product is demonstrated for the first time. “One pump of foundation, two pumps of base thinner,” he demonstrates while creating a glowing and lightweight concoction for the skin. “Look how pretty. See? If you want it thinner, you add more base thinner.” The skin tint is applied with a multipurpose four-sided sponge, leaving the skin even-toned and the freckles still visible.
Patrick is very clear that this tutorial is NOT for the ‘full beat’ community, but it is for their benefit. “This is just to hopefully inspire people that want to get into beauty for the first time,” he says. “I feel like that’s my responsibility as a beauty influencer and as a founder of a beauty company. Makeup is not one size fits all.” He even shares a beauty tip helping the new comers, “Take a step back and evaluate if it’s looking good. Since we’re so close to the mirror.”
Patrick finishes layering the under eyes with powder foundation to provide buildable coverage, and choosing a bronzer and blush shade that complement the blonde hair finishes the looks. “When picking bronzer, you don’t want anything too orange or warm because it’ll argue with the hair colour,” he states. He completes the multistep lip with more SPF spray, an important step. “Set your face with One/Size’s setting spray with SPF,” he says. “Layer it with the waterproof one. More SPF. You can always apply as much as you want.”
With the publication of the video, the comment section received a flood of comments. One comment standed out with, “You look soooo good blonde!!!” The users expressed a majority of more questions than qualified answers than of knowledge Patrick shared in the video. ‘Can you give your shade match colours for the products!!! ❤️’ begged one user, while another spoke in awe of the base thinner stating, ‘Base thinner?? Yes please!! I need the red sponge. Pls do more tutorials!!’ Alongside the comments sparkling with questions, enthusiasm was shared about the blonde hair colour with “Yes we do! Blondes have more fun,” displaying energy similar to that of Patrick.
There were a lot of questions, and they ranged from quite basic to technical. For example, questions like “Curious to know how you lay down your lace?” in relation to the application of the wigs, were a bit on the technical side. Another user referred to a shared problem, “How do I keep makeup from touching my shirt collar?” A lot of other people mentioned their desire to have Patrick’s product line. Patrick’s followers have said things such as “I would love to have all your products one day.” People also started noticing the SPF stick and spray, which turned out to be the unknown protagonists, with comments such as “Wait I need that SPF stick! 😍” and “I need that spray 😍,” indicating that products, that are a combination of makeup and skincare, are very popular.

Patrick Starrr’s tutorials break the mold of ‘how-to’ makeup guide videos. While many of us are distracted to keep up with the up-to-date beauty trends, Starrr is removing the barriers to beauty and is discovering its joy and play, as well as its constant shift. On a personal note, I’ll take this as proof that blondes really do have more fun.
