
A person was fatally struck by a Boston University shuttle bus early Monday in the city’s South End.The crash happened just before 8 a.m. at 774 Albany St., near Massachusetts Avenue, police said. The victim, who became trapped beneath the bus, died, Boston police confirmed. “The bus caught her and dragged her straight all – today see how it’s backing up – all the way in front of Barbara McInnis (House),” witness Michael Franks said.Boston University said the bus is owned and operated by the school’s vendor, Academy Express, and the driver is employed by the company. In a statement, Academy Express announced that the driver was removed from all of their duties, pending an investigation.”At approximately 7:55 am today (10.6.25) a shuttle bus operated by Academy Express, LLC., under contract with Boston University, was involved in an incident at the intersection of Albany Street and Massachusetts Avenue,” Academy Express wrote. “As a result of this incident, a pedestrian was struck and sustained fatal injuries. Boston Police are leading an investigation into the incident with the assistance and cooperation of Academy Express. The driver of the shuttle has been removed from all scheduled duties pending the outcome of the investigation.”Boston University also released a statement regarding the incident. “Sadly, at around 8 a.m., a shuttle bus was involved in an accident with a pedestrian at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street. The pedestrian is deceased. The accident is under investigation by Boston Police,” Boston University said in a statement. The victim’s name has not been released.
