Pete Davidson is looking back at attending the SNL50: The Anniversary Special.
Back in February, the NBC sketch comedy series celebrated its 50th anniversary with a star-studded show with guests in attendance including Emma Stone, Jerry Seinfeld, Kim Kardashian, Seth Rogen, Lady Gaga, and many more.
While appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Wednesday (August 6), Pete shared why the audience was “terrible.”

As the Late Night show audience began to laugh, Pete doubled down on his claim, and said, “It’s true! I’m guilty of this!”
Seth agreed with the Bupkis actor’s statement, before making fun of him for being “the only one laughing” in the audience while watching a pre-taped sketch that he appeared in during the special.
While he was underwhelmed by the audience’s response to the anniversary show, Pete did say he had a great time being seated next to Meryl Streep.
“Meryl rules,” he said. “In typical SNL fashion, they don’t tell you anything. You don’t even know what’s going on. I get to my seat and I just look and I’m like, ‘This can’t be right.’ And it was Meryl Streep.”
The dad-to-be added, “I just sat down and I was like, ‘I’m so sorry that I’m sitting next to you. You’re the best.’”
As for how 76-year-old three-time Oscar winner responded to his praise, Pete recalled, “She was very nice. She was just like, ‘No, no, no.’”
If you missed it, Bill Hader revealed why why he skipped the SNL50.
