Prosecutors Fear Lil Durk May Have Tampered w/ Witnesses After Being Caught w/ Apple series + Rapper’s Team Seeks To Dismiss M#rder-For-Hire Case Ahead Of Trial
Good news, bad news for #LilDurk fans.
The bad news: the rapper is under fire after jail officials say he was caught using an Apple series while behind bars. He reportedly tried to destroy the device once it was discovered. However, the damage was already done. On Monday (Oct. 6), prosecutors filed a motion requesting an anonymous jury for the upcoming trial, citing concerns about possible witness tampering.
The good news: #Durk’s defense team is pushing to have his m#rder-for-hire case dismissed altogether, arguing the federal indictment doesn’t lay out enough specifics for a fair trial.

Attorney Findling wrote that “While the Indictment alleges that the co-conspirators carried out various acts ‘at the direction of’ Mr. Banks—flying to Los Angeles; tracking, stalking, and attempting to k!ll [Quando Rondo] by g*nfire; and procuring the fire*rms and equipment used to do so—it fails to give any specifics.”
Findling added, “When, where, how, and to whom did Mr. Banks give these alleged directions? To ensure the basic fairness of this trial, the defense is entitled to know.” A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 18, and, as of today, Durk, who has been in custody since October 2024, will head to trial in January 2026.
