
Quentin Tarantino is shedding some light on his creative decisions!
The 62-year-old filmmaker has long shared plans to release a total of 10 films before he leaves Hollywood. His most recent film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was his ninth as a director.
Although Quentin had previously planned for The Movie Critic to be his 10th and final film, he shelved the movie last year. immediately, the director is explaining why.

While on the Thursday (August 14) episode of The Church of Tarantino podcast, the director shared his thought process behind shelving the movie.
“There was a challenge that I gave to myself when I did it. Can I take the most boring profession in the world and make it an interesting movie?” Quentin said, noting that he “really likes” the script he had written.
“I was so excited about the writing, but I wasn’t really that excited about dramatizing what I wrote once we were in pre-production,” Quentin shared on the podcast episode.
He went on to reveal that The Movie Critic was supposed to be set in the same universe as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but that there was no direct connection between the movies. He said, “But there were no crossover characters. Cliff Booth was never in The Movie Critic.”
