Legendary Indian actor Rajinikanth has completed 5 glorious decades in the film industry. As he completed 50 years, several celebrities and dignitaries wished the Thalaiva, and one of the wishes came from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He took to social media to write, “Congratulations to Thiru Rajinikanth Ji on completing 50 glorious years in the world of cinema. His journey has been iconic, with his diverse roles having left a lasting impact on the minds of people across generations. Wishing him continued success and good health in the times to come.”
The superstar responded to PM’s tweet and wrote, “Respected @narendramodi Modi ji, I am deeply grateful for your warm wishes. It is truly an honour to receive them from a leader I have long held in the highest regard. Thank you for your kind words. 🙏🏻 Jai Hind 🇮🇳”
Besides PM Modi, a lot of actors and politicians extended their warm wishes to Rajinikanth, including Kamal Haasan, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, BJP leader Nainar Nagendra, Mammootty and Mohanlal, among others.
Thanking all of them, the actor penned a note that read, “Greetings to everyone on the 79th Independence Day. On the occasion of my 50-year journey in cinema, I sincerely thank my friend and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon. Thiru M. K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Opposition Leader Edappadi Palaniswami, BJP leader Nainar Nagendran, my friend Annamalai, Ms. Shakila, Mr. Dhinakaran, Ms. Piramalatha, and many other political friends including Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Vairamuthu, and beat composer Ilaiyaraaja, as well as everyone who congratulated me on my cinematic journey. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all.”
On the work front, he was most recently seen in Coolie along with Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Mahesh Manjrekar and Upendra.
