Today, it is all about Coolie. Rajinikanth’s new movie directed by Lokesh Kangaraj is all that fans are talking about. The movie has banger the screens and all the Thalaivaa fans are celebrating this day. For fifty years, Rajinikanth has been entertaining the masses and with Coolie, he has once again proved that there is nobody like him. On social media, positive reviews are pouring in for the new movie. There was a lot of buzz around Coolie before its release and reports of the film having a sequel were also doing the rounds on the internet. But Lokesh Kangaraj has today set the record straight.
Coolie is a standalone movie Lokesh Kangaraj took to his social media account to pen an emotional note for Rajinikanth and Coolie. In the post, he thanked everyone including Nagarjuna, Soubin Sahir, Shruti Haasan, Aamir Khan and others for being a part of the film. He also thanked the technical crew and producers. Further, Lokesh Kangaraj shared appreciated the unwavering support and love shown by the audience over the years. In the end, he also wrote that Coolie is “all yours in a few hours” and requested the fans to series it in theatres and not give out any spoiler. Lastly, he clarified that Coolie is a ‘standalone film’ made for Superstar Rajinikanth. Thus, clarifying that Coolie is not a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe. LCU or Lokiverse had films like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo. The universe is all about interconnected movies. However, Coolie isn’t a part of it.
Coolie 2 in making? Talking about the sequel of the film, the rumours began after musician Anirudh Ravinchander spoke about it. In an interview, he said, “I hope there’s a Coolie 2. The past one and a half years that we have worked on this film have been so magical, especially the positive vibes from everyone on set, including the legends,” as reported by entertainment news portal, The Hollywood Reporter India. Given that Lokesh has confirmed that it is a standalone movie, the sequel seems unlikely.
