Whether you’re a visitor or a native, there’s no shortage of fun activities in the city. Here’s a couple spots readers say we missed on our list of Best Things to Do in Boston.
“Boston Public Market! I was surprised to see Faneuil Hall on this list, and not BPM. It’s a must visit — grab fresh meals anytime of day (there’s so much variety), grab local groceries (the freshest fish!), or grab a beverage and shop a bit (I can find gifts for anyone within 30 minutes). I also love attending events there — lots of fun workshops and sometimes they even do after-hours, 21+ parties which I enjoyed. It feels good to connect with and support local food producers, artisans, and small businesses.” Rose, Medford

Knight Moves Board Game Cafe
“I want to shout out Knight Moves Board Game cafe! It’s got wall to wall board games, more than you could ever play, great staff that will help you pick out a game, a great menu of sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, and pastries served to you while you play, and a very fair ‘you pay once when you enter’ rate model and then you can stay as long as you’d like. There are other places to play board games in Greater Boston, but none with nearly as many options.” Charlie, Somerville

Who doesn’t love a good thrifting find? Shop for something unique and new-to-you at these readers’ favorite thrift shops.
“A wonderful vintage (and current) thrift store in Coolidge Corner, Brookline: Thrifty Threads in the huge beautiful old United Parish church. They have three rooms full of racks of clothes, plus shoes, bags, housewares, and more … and a free table. Very affordable prices, except for a few gorgeous things that they rate higher. Proceeds go to the church, which does lots of community work. And a wonderful community atmosphere — some people shop every week, I volunteer every week I can. Best of all: nothing goes to landfill if they can afford it — they give excess to community groups, from shelters to teen programs.” Helen

“Retrospect in Cambridge has been open since last fall, when they moved from a much smaller space a block or so away. It’s packed with clothing, jewelry, watches, stuff to hang on your walls, etc. It’s free to play pool in the back of the store!” Nandrew, posted on bostonglobe.com
