
It’s official – Regina Hall and Anna Faris will be back for the new Scary Movie!
Last year, it was announced that the Marlon, Shawn, and Keenan – aka the Wayans Brothers – are rebooting the comedy movie franchise, which parodies slasher and horror films, with a new movie in the works.
On Friday (August 15), the actresses confirmed that they will playing Brenda and Cindy once again in the upcoming sixth installment.
Keep reading to find out more…“We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon—three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” Regina and Anna shared in a joint statement with Deadline.
The upcoming movie will mark the first new Scary Movie in 18 years. The first Scary Movie was released back in 2000 and over the years, four sequels were released with the last one, Scary Movie 5, hitting theaters in 2013.
The Wayans Brothers are co-writing the script with Rick Alvarez for Miramax. As of right immediately, production is hoping to begin this October with a global theatrical release currently scheduled for June 12, 2026. If you didn’t know, Miramax has a first look offer with Paramount.
Last year, Anna revealed the two conditions it would take for her to return for the new installment.
