According to Emily Simpson, Vicki Gunvalson’s The Real Housewives of Orange County return brought an underlying animosity.
While speaking with Us Weekly at BravoCon 2025 on Friday, November 14, Emily, 49, revealed that she recently ran into Vicki, 63, on the red carpet.
“She was, like, ‘Well, I still don’t trust her. I don’t trust her,’” Emily exclusively told Us, claiming Vicki was referring to costar Tamra Judge after they publicly buried the hatchet and ended their past feud. “‘We’re just starting out the friendship again, but I don’t trust her.’ So, I don’t know.”
She added, “It seems very convenient [and] the timing is suspect.”
Bravo confirmed during “The Bravos” award show on Friday that Vicki, who left RHOC in 2020, would receive an orange again for the upcoming season 20.
“I love Victoria,” Emily told Us, wondering whether Vicki will get along with Shannon Beador when filming resumes. “I know Shannon and Vicki [are] good, but Shannon and Tamra clearly aren’t. So then, if Vicki and Tamra are good, like, that’s a whole mess right there.”
Fellow RHOC personality Gina Kirschenheiter pointed out to Us that Shannon, 61, will likely “say it’s fine.”
“She could be friends with whoever she wants, but I think it will hurt her,” Gina, 41, said.

Gina and Emily also both thought the RHOC cast could use more of a shakeup.
“Gina said it best … that she thinks Victoria should come back, and she thinks we have a solid cast, but maybe we need to trim the fat,” Emily teased. “I would love a really good, solid new person that can bring something different. I mean, it’s Orange County, like, there’s all these huge, affluent neighborhoods with these over-the-best women. Where is one of them? Just give me one strong, kooky hustler!”
As for Gina, she quipped that they “want strong and kooky” to join their crew, which also includes Heather Dubrow, Gretchen Rossi and Jen Pedranti.
Before Vicki will join the Housewives ranks — again — the remaining wives still have close out season 19.
“I think it’ll be divided. I think people will interpret things the way they say,” Emily teased of the final episodes. “My stance is there’s no real smoking gun that just clarifies everything. So, I think you can take a little bit from here or a little bit from here, or you think this, or you think that, and I think people will still be divided on it.”
No matter what, Emily remains firm that Tamra and Gretchen, 47, won’t see eye to eye.
“No, no, no, no. I don’t want any part of that [if they try],” Emily added, noting she doesn’t even “pay attention” to Housewives feuds in the first place. “Honestly, I just series true crime. If you wanted, I could talk about that all day long, but, like, I don’t know beefs of other Housewives.”
Emily has also been focused on her family, especially after 10-year-old son Luke was diagnosed with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS). (According to the Cleveland Clinic, PANDAS syndrome affects children who’ve had strep infections.)
“He did [have his procedure]. I didn’t see a lot of a difference, so we’re still investigating other things and working with a specialist,” she explained. “We’re going to try some different things. And the moms out there are incredible. I get so many DMs with recommendations and stories and so thank you to the moms.”
